Precog IP Addresses

Precog connects to your data sources and destinations from a set of fixed IP addresses. These are the public IP addresses of NAT gateways on Precog's shared infrastructure. If your sources or destinations are protected by a firewall or IP-based access controls, you can add the following IP addresses to your allowlist.

IP AddressRegionLocation
44.205.118.35USAWS US East (Virginia)
3.73.24.30EUAWS EU Central (Frankfurt)

Note: The datacenters are in different jurisdictions—take this into account based on your data residency requirements.

When to Allowlist

You may need to configure your allowlist when connecting to:

  • Cloud databases with IP-based security (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL)
  • On-premise databases behind corporate firewalls
  • Data warehouses with network restrictions (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery with VPC Service Controls)
  • APIs that require IP-based authentication
  • Snowflake with network policies restricting access

Data Residency Considerations

If your organization has data residency requirements, consider:

  • US-only data: Allowlist only 44.205.118.35 (US East region)
  • EU-only data: Allowlist only 3.73.24.30 (EU Central region)
  • Both regions: Allowlist both IPs if your data residency policy permits

Contact your account representative to discuss region-specific deployment options if you have strict data residency requirements.

Disaster Recovery and Region Failover

Each region operates independently. In the unlikely event of a complete regional failure requiring failover to the alternate datacenter:

  • Manual coordination required: Precog will work with affected customers to coordinate any region migration
  • Data re-synchronization: The staging area in the new region would need to be repopulated from your source systems, which may take significant time depending on data volume
  • Allowlist updates: You would need to update your allowlist to include the alternate region's IP address

For most customers, we recommend allowlisting only the IP address for your primary region and coordinating with Precog support if a region migration becomes necessary.
